Panavision

Inventory and Technical Assistant

Job Summary 

To prepare and test Panavision equipment. To work with other departments to ensure good equipment flow throughout the prep process. To liaise with shift leaders and HOD on equipment issues.  To ensure good customer service is delivered both internally and externally.  Proactive promotion of all processes and new initiatives.  Prepare, check and ship equipment for rental.  Support crew requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.  Additional duties may be assigned from time to time:

• Examine, clean, test and perform basic adjustments of equipment (which equipment and what testing is dependent on technical aptitude as determined by company training program and supervisor). Perform maintenance of equipment within Technicians capabilities and degrees of technical knowledge
• Ensure highest level of customer satisfaction through to job completion by interfacing with all internal departments while maintaining active, informative contact with client (internal or external).
• Inform supervisor of any conflict around equipment, keep track of all shortages.
• Work with clients as their equipment requirements change during testing, fielding questions and seeking technical support from supervisors when necessary.
• Locate and pick client’s equipment orders following detailed company procedures for equipment preparation and dispatch. Ensure equipment works to the manufacture specifications and the accurate functioning of various components
• Maintain all working functions of assigned prep process area. Uphold and follow safety guidelines and precautions to prevent injuries and accidents
• Examine, clean, test and perform basic adjustments of equipment (which equipment and what testing is dependent on technical aptitude as determined by company training program and supervisor).
• Ship equipment accurately and in a timely manner ensuring all system data is updated and correct.
• Keep storage, test bays and all work areas neat and organized
• Other duties as needed.

1. Creating high-quality, realistic 3D character models, including body, facial features, clothing, and hair/fur.
2. Consistently delivering assets on schedule while maintaining high standards of quality.
3. Creating characters that match concept art, and fit into the world they occupy
4. Integrating characters into the engine, troubleshooting rendering and shader issues, and optimizing texture balance for performance and visual fidelity.
5. Effectively utilizing industry-standard tools such as Character Creator, iClone, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine.
6. Collaborating with the Head of Pipeline to ensure characters follow internal workflows, are properly named, and optimized for in-engine performance.

 Requirements:

7. Proven experience as a 3D Character artist with a focus character suitable for Unreal Engine
8. Have experience with taking 3D assets into Unreal engine to work up to finishing stage with shaders.
9. Knowing tools like Reallusion iClone and Character Creator is advantageous, if not, then artist must be willing to get trained up in it.
10. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, understanding project goals and timelines.
11. Passion for pushing creative boundaries and staying updated on industry trends.
12. Must be a resident in Northern Ireland.

BELFAST BASED DEVELOPMENT AP

Spark Media are looking to hire an experienced full-time Development AP to join our Belfast office.

The successful candidate will be:

• An avid TV watcher and have a genuine enthusiasm for TV and watch a wide range of content as well as keeping across the latest trends and emerging on-screen talent.
• Experienced in researching and formatting ideas.
• A strong writer who can write catchy log lines and write full treatments/decks quickly.
• Able to design eye-catching thumbnails and pitch decks.
• Curious about the world we live in, able to identify trends, movements, organisations and communities that could form the basis of a great TV idea.
• Happy to contribute to / run brainstorming sessions on a wide variety of subjects but also can self-manage and create solo.
• A self-starter with strong communication skills.
• Ability to self-shoot and edit would also be assets but not essential.

As part of a small team, you’ll work directly to Spark’s Head of Development.

You will be based in our Belfast office.

Sound Designer / Re-Recording Mixer

Ka-boom is expanding its busy audio post-production team and is seeking a talented Sound Designer / Re-Recording Mixer to join us in delivering high-quality sound for a wide range of TV and film projects. This is a collaborative role that will see you working as part of a dynamic team on everything from track-lay and voice recording to full sound design and final mixing — depending on your experience and skill level.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with our team on the full audio post-production pipeline including
track-lay, sound design, voice and ADR recording, and mixing.
• Set up and manage Pro Tools sessions, including Avid and third-party plugins.
• Ensure all deliverables meet broadcast and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot audio issues and provide solutions efficiently.
• Stay up to date with the latest software, tools, and industry best practices.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to deliver audio that supports
and enhances the creative vision.
• Proactively report any issues that could affect timelines or quality.

Experience & Skills
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a post-production environment.
• Strong proficiency in Avid Pro Tools and related audio tools.
• Solid understanding of TV and film audio workflows.
• Experience working across a range of genres and formats is a plus.
