The Windermere Children nominated for a Broadcast Award

Leading television trade publication, Broadcast today announced the shortlist for its 2021 Awards. Northern Ireland Screen is delighted to see The Windermere Children among the prestigious list of nominees.

Northern Ireland doubled for the Lake District in 2019 for filming of The Windermere Children which has been nominated for Best Single Drama. Produced by Wall to Wall the film is the first dramatisation of a remarkable true story, when in 1945 hundreds of child survivors of the concentration camps were taken to this idyllic region to recuperate. Broadcast on BBC Two on Holocaust Memorial Day, the film marked the 75th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust.

The Salisbury Poisonings, co-written by Northern Ireland natives Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson received a nomination for International Programme Sales.

The winners of the Broadcast Awards 2021 will be revealed on Tuesday 27th May at a virtual awards show hosted by a special guest presenter and featuring a wealth of leading industry names.
