Video Game Production: Embedding R&D into production workflows

The Pixel Mill is hosting a talk and Q&A from video game designer and producer Elizabeth Simeons on video game production exploring how R&D, and idea generation, can be part of the game develop workflow.

Indie video game development is a busy and intense process where a studio’s focus can be on the game they are making at that time. This can mean there is a lot of pressure on time and not a lot of head space for new ideas.  The process to discover exciting mechanics or new directions can get lost amongst deadlines. However new ideas and mechanics are an important part of what makes being a game development studio unique.

This workshop will look at how embedding R&D in production workflows can help make games better, and how to implement an R&D process.

Elizabeth Simeons is a Game Designer and producer at SeaSylph Games, previously working as Lead Game Designer at Fire Hazard Games working on titles such as the Hunted Experience and Operation Survival for the University of Cambridge Museums

The workshop will be held remotely from 3pm -4pm on Tuesday 7th July. Those interested in attending, please email Rory Clifford, Interactive Manager, [email protected], to book a place.
