Flickerpix Company Placement Trainee
Flickerpix is a creatively driven animation studio located in the seaside town of Holywood, just outside Belfast. Creating 2D, 3D and stop-motion animations with an emphasis on heart and humour Flickerpix offer a one-stop shop from concept origination to delivery, including script writing, character design, storyboarding, music design, animation and post-production. Flickerpix is part of the Waddell Media group, one of Ireland’s largest television production companies.
Flickerpix is currently looking to recruit a Junior 2D artist to join its team for a variety of exciting upcoming productions. The candidate must have strong drawing and design skills and be able to demonstrate a strong creative vision.
This is a paid placement (RLW) which will provide the opportunity for one successful applicant to experience an insight into working in a creatively driven animation studio based in Northern Ireland.
Fulfilling several roles within a 2D pipeline, particularly storyboarding, background and character development and creation. Some animation duties if the candidate has the skillset. The candidate will need to work well as part of a team to deliver assets for animations on time and to a high standard.
- Qualification in an animation/illustration related course.
- Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
- The ability to demonstrate excellent drawing skills, including background and character art.
- Excellent understanding of lighting, tone, and composition.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Motion Graphics/After Effects Experience
