David Ryan is left stranded at the altar when his wife to be changes her mind. He decides to go on honeymoon anyway but misses his plane as he was on a drinking binge. He meets Claire, a highly strung waitress who has just been fired and needs money. David needs to get out of Dublin. Claire negotiates a fee, takes his unused wedding ring as a deposit and together they drive into rural Ireland where David has access to a house. Together they begin a chaotic adventure that will change both their lives forever.
