Date Posted: February 28, 2022

This Oul Fermin Life, a short film from Bangor based Sub-Culture Production has been selected to feature in two international film festivals; Standing Rock International Shorts Festival in Ohio on Saturday 5th March and Uninhabited International Film Festival in Copenhagen in spring where it will also remain as part of a permanent collection of films in the Red Door Gallery.

Directed by Tristan Crowe with assistance from Mick Crossey, and produced by Liam Logan and Chris Eva, the short film was funded by our Ulster-Scots Broadcast Fund.

The film is a dramatisation of a poem by Ulster-Scots poet Charlie Gillen which explores the harshness of farming life in rural Ulster but at the same time reflects on the joy of nature and the stewardship of the land.

It leaves viewers with some thoughts about the importance of family in a modern world and helps us understand the simple things that we should appreciate and value.
