Wig & postiche course for film, theatre & TV

The World of Wigs Academy is holding a specialist wig & postiche course for film, theatre & television on Sunday 31st January and Monday 1st February.

The course is delivered by a professional hairdresser and make-up artist who has worked on productions like Game of Thrones and Dracula Untold as well as theatre, opera, film and television. She brings with her a wealth of experience that she puts to full use in the delivery of the course. The skills and techniques learned provide the necessary basis for employment opportunities in the ever growing industry of film, theatre & television.

This course offers an insight into skills needed to gain confidence in working with wigs & hairpieces and is ideally suited for those with or without hairdressing experience and those wanting to advance their careers.

This course is a ‘hands on’ practical application of skills in:

  • Etiquette, code of conduct, health & safety on set / behind scenes
  • Fitting and cleaning of wigs and postiche
  • Making a template
  • Preparation for wig fitting
  • Maintenance of wigs and postiche during performances
  • Removal, cleaning and storing of wigs and pastiche
  • Setting & Styling for Period Styles

Course Fees: £365 / €477 (incl VAT)

All wigs, hair pieces, tools and products are provided.

The course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5pm Sunday & Monday.

You will be provided with all products & equipment needed for each course.

Each student will receive an officially stamped certificate on completion of course.

All courses can be tailored to your requirement.

The number of students will be 6 per course, as this will enable the course tutor to spend
more time individually with each student.
