Electrical Department Trainee development opportunity

Date Posted: April 23, 2021

Northern Ireland Screen is running a skills development scheme called Production, Craft and Technical Skills 2020.  The scheme will provide training opportunities in varied roles in the film and television industry.

Production, Craft and Technical Skills 2020 is a paid placement scheme (NMW/NLW) and the participants will gain experience on Northern Ireland Screen funded film and television projects.

We are currently looking for a Electrical Department Trainee. This is a great opportunity for anyone who would like to learn more about working in film & TV production. This person will work closely with the Sparks (Lighting Technicians). They come under the responsibility of the Best Boy (Lighting Co-ordinator) and the Gaffer (Head of the Lighting Department). Electrical trainees spend a lot of time moving equipment and running errands for the Sparks. They get to set early and help unload the gear. Following the instructions of the best boy and the sparks, they help set up for filming, under supervision.
