A brand new series of Trad Ar Fad! to air on BBC Two NI

Trad Ar Fad! is back with a new series. This time around it will be based in the Conway Mill in Belfast and welcomes back presenter Emma Ní Fhíoruisce.

Starting on Monday 16th March, the new four-part series of Trad Ar Fad!, made for BBC Gaeilge by Sonas Productions with support from Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund, is on BBC Two Northern Ireland at 10pm.

Over the four weeks, there will be performances from the new, exciting generation of traditional and folk artists which has emerged and who have been forging an alternative musical path with their own unique brand of music.

Programme One features performances from Ross Ainslie & The Sanctuary Band and Hoodman Blind who also welcome Emma on stage to perform. Emma also meets up with students on one of the music courses at Queen’s University.

Programme Two in the series features performances from Barry & Laura Kerr, Gráinne Holland and The Houtons, while weeks three and four welcome performances from The Kinnaris Quintet, Sarah Flynn & Doireann Glackin, Cathal Murphy, Cormac Crummey & Benedict Morris, Niamh McElduff and Martha Guiney & Aisling Lyons.

Ag tosú Dé Luain 16 Márta, is ar BBC a Dó Tuaisceart Éireann ar 10pm a bheidh an tsraith úr ceithre chlár de Trad Ar Fad!, arna léiriú do BBC Gaeilge ag Sonas Productions le tacaíocht ó Chiste Craoltóireachta Gaeilge, Scáileán Thuaisceart Éireann.

Thar na ceithre seachtaine, cluinfear ceoltóirí de chuid na nglúnta úra de cheoltóirí traidisiúnta agus daoncheoltóirí atá ag teacht chun cinn agus atá ag cruthú a gcosán agus a gcineál ceoil féin.

Ar chlár a haon beidh ceol ó Ross Ainslie & The Sanctuary Band agus Hoodman Blind a chuireann fáilte roimh Emma le bheith ag seinm ina gcuideachta ar an ardán. Bíonn comhrá ag Emma fosta le mic léinn atá ag gabháil do chúrsa ceoil ar Ollscoil na Banríona.

Ar chlár a dó den tsraith beidh ceol ó Barry agus Laura Kerr, Gráinne Holland agus The Houtons, agus i seachtain a trí agus a ceathair táimid ag dúil go mór le héisteacht leis an Kinnaris Quintet, Sarah Flynn agus Doireann Glackin, Cathal Murphy, Cormac Crummey agus Benedict Morris, Niamh McElduff agus Martha Guiney agus Aisling Lyons.
