The Film and TV Charity has opened a new COVID-19 Recovery Fund

Date Posted: October 2, 2020

The Film and TV Charity, an organisation that supports everyone who works behind the scenes in UK film, television and cinema, has opened a new Covid-19 Recovery Fund to support people who have been hit hardest by the pandemic.

The charity has found that the pandemic may be having a disproportionate impact on some groups in the industry, especially those who may have already faced barriers to entry and staying in the industry.

The fund will support people for up to 6 months, helping people to sustain themselves and their careers through and out of the current crisis. They can provide grants of £750 a month (up to £4,500) to active workers affected by the crisis who are most at risk personally and professionally.

To apply for the grant, you must:

  • be a UK resident
  • work in film, TV or cinema
  • have been in paid industry work for at least 40 days in the last 18 months
  • be in financial difficulty due to COVID-19
  • have earned less than £30,420 in the previous financial year (2019/20)

The scheme closes on Monday 12 October so make sure you apply or share this opportunity with friends or colleagues who may be struggling.
