Employment status information needed urgently!

Last Thursday the government announced the Self-employment Income Support Scheme which, in addition to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, is intended to provide much needed financial aid to workers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Unfortunately, these two schemes will not help everyone and some workers in the Northern Ireland screen industries may not be covered by either scheme.
In order to effectively lobby government, and hopefully bring about the changes needed to bring financial support to all the workers in the screen industries, Northern Ireland Screen needs to present empirical information.
To that end we are asking all freelance workers in the screen industries to tell us if they are:
- Schedule D: You pay your tax directly to HMRC, completed a self assessment tax return for the financial year 2018 / 2019, were working in 2019 / 2020 and intend to work in 2020 / 2021.
- PAYE Contract: Pay As You Earn, your employer pays your tax directly to the government, and then takes this amount from your wages AND you had a signed contract with an employer on 1 March 2020.
- PAYE No Contract: Pay As You Earn, your employer pays your tax directly to the government, and then takes this amount from your wages, however you DID NOT have a signed contract with an employer on 1 March 2020.

Northern Ireland Screen will aggregate all the information, you will not be individually identifiable and Northern Ireland Screen will not supply any third party with your personal information without your express prior consent.
We are asking for your name and email address so that we can share information on the issues that affect you most directly with you.
We cannot stress how important it is to capture this data, we need it to lobby for support for the sector as a whole and especially for those that cannot now work.
Please share this post with everyone you know in the Northern Ireland screen industries and encourage them to share their status (Schedule D, PAYE Contract, PAYE No Contract) with us.
The more accurate our information the better our case for ensuring everyone is taken care of during the Covid-19 pandemic.
