Northern Ireland Screen Skills Bursaries During COVID-19

Date Posted: April 10, 2020

During this lockdown, it may be a good time for you to consider any training or up-skilling that you have been keen to complete but, until now, have been unable to take the time do.

To facilitate this, for the duration of the lockdown, Northern Ireland Screen will be offering eligible applicants skills bursaries to cover 100% of training costs up to £2,000 per application.

Many training providers have transformed their existing courses, so that they can be delivered remotely with more and more courses becoming available each week.

If there is any training you would like to complete but don’t know where to find it, we would be happy to try and help source courses for you.

We want to help as many people as possible and have found a number of courses we believe would help close some of the skills gaps identified across our sectors.  Some priority training areas are:

  • Leadership
  • Project Management
  • Budgeting
  • Managing Teams

Priority will also be given to anyone who has gone through our ‘Stepping Up’ scheme where additional training that can be delivered online was requested.

In the first instance, you should email our Skills Manager, Paula Campbell, [email protected] giving details of:

  • The training you wish to complete
  • Training provider
  • The cost of the training
  • Dates of the training
  • Why this training will help your career development as well as making a positive impact on the local sector

Irish speakers wishing to avail of the bursary should in the first instance email the ILBF Officer Doireann Nic Dhomhnaill, [email protected].

Eligibility to apply for a skills bursary remains unchanged and you can find a copy of our guidelines HERE.
