Access Shorts table reading

Date Posted: January 19, 2016

Northern Ireland Screen will be hosting a table reading of the short films which were selected through the Access Shorts programme. The table reading will take place on Saturday the 23rd January between 9:30am-4pm at The Mac Belfast.

Access Shorts is an initiative to find film-makers exclusively from groups that are under-represented in the film and television sector

All the short films have been written by Northern Ireland resident writers. The short films being read are:

Muirgheilt

There is a legend among fishermen that to have a woman on a boat is bad luck. A young eel fisherman named Fergus is about to discover first- hand how this legend came about.

Heavy Petting

The Gift

Writer: Murat Akser

A gift can be a blessing…or a CURSE!

The Climb

Yoyo

Writers: Youcef Boubetnikh & Marty McCann

Yoyo is the story of a little boy’s journey of self-discovery and the realisation of what’s important.
