Date Posted: June 8, 2022

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Northern Ireland Screen announced today the reopening of their funding incentive for the development of screen-based projects between Canadian and Northern Ireland producers. Click HERE to read the guidelines.

Now in its fifth consecutive year, the Canada-Northern Ireland Co-development Incentive for Audio-visual Projects funds the co-development of television projects in the following genres: drama, documentary, animation, entertainment or education, or digital media content made for other platforms, including web series, video games, transmedia projects, and virtual or augmented reality.

The amount available for this year will be CAD$200,000 (£117,000) with half the funds contributed by each funding organisation. The total maximum contribution for each project funded through the Incentive will be CAD$50,000 (£29,250).

Producers interested in applying to receive funding can apply until Wednesday 31st August.

Finding an international partner

Producers interested in finding an international partner as part of this development incentive are invited to post a profile of their company on the CMF website by clicking here. Profiles will be accessible to all, including potential partners from other countries.

There will also be an online information and networking event for producers from 2.30 – 5.30 pm (BST) on the 22nd of June.  Registration for this event is now open through this link: https://celticmediafestival.swoogo.com/cmf_niscreen2022
