SCÉIM NA nIONTRÁLAITHE NUA | ILBF NEW ENTRANT SCHEME 2019


Tá iarratais á lorg ag an Chiste Craoltóireachta Gaeilge ó dhaoine a bhfuil Gaeilge líofa acu do Scéim na nIontrálaithe Nua. I rith na scéimeanna lánaimseartha beidh na hoiliúnaithe ag foghlaim cheird na teilifíse agus iad ar socrúchán ag comhlachtaí léiriúcháin teilifíse i dTuaisceart Éireann.

Is socrúchán bliana ar íocaíocht (ar íosphá) í an scéim d’Iontrálaithe Nua i Scileanna Teilifíse agus í dírithe ar dhaoine a bhfuil an earnáil nua acu – [6 áit ar fad]. Caithfidh Gaeilge líofa a bheith ag na hoiliúnaithe, idir labhairt agus scríobh.

Cén áit a mbeidh an scéim lonnaithe?

Beidh na hoiliúnaithe lonnaithe i gcomhlachtaí léiriúcháin i mBéal Feirste agus áiteanna eile i dTuaisceart Éireann agus sa stáisiún teilifís áitiúil i mBéal Feirste.

Cé atá incháilithe?

Beidh tú i dteideal cuir isteach ar an scéim más é TÁ an freagra ar an dhá cheist seo agus má comhlíonann tú na critéir thíosluaite:

  • An bhfuil sé de cheart agat bheith ag obair i dTuaisceart Éireann?
  • An bhfuil tú ar fáil ó Mheán Fómhair 2019 – Lúnasa 2020 le páirt a ghlacadh sa scéim?

Le do thoil, ná cuir isteach ar an scéim seo muna bhfuil tú ábalta freagra de a thabhairt ar an dhá cheist sin. Ní ghlacfar le hiarratais nach bhfuil cáilithe.

Critéir riachtanacha:

  • Scileanna cumarsáide den chéad scoth, idir labhartha agus scríofa, i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla.
  • Eolas ar an chultúr Gaelach.
  • Spéis as cuimse sna meáin, go háirthe na meáin Ghaeilge.
  • Ábalta úsáid a bhaint as na córais fhaisnéise.
  • Ábalatcht a bheith ag obair faoi bhrú agus i dtreo sprioc-amanna.
  • An cumas caidrimh a fhorbairt agus a bheith ag obair le daoine eile mar pháirt de fhoireann.

Critéir inmhianaithe:

  • Cáilíocht tríú leibhéal go háirithe sna hábhair seo a leanas: na Meáin Chumarsáide; an Ghaeilge; Cuntasaíocht; Staidéar Gnó; Dlí.
  • Taithí phraiticiúil sna meáin.

Conas a chuirim isteach ar an scéim?

Chun iarratas a dhéanamh do Scéim na nIontrálaithe Nua beidh ar iarratasóirí an t-eolas seo a leanas a chuir ar fáil tríd córas iarratais ar líne Scáileán Thuaisceart Éireann:

  • Oideachas & Oiliúint.
  • Taithí Oibre.
  • Alt, thart ar 700 focal, ag cur síos ar an chaoi a gcomhlíonann tú na critéir, na spriocanna atá agat don todhchaí agus an dóigh go gcabhróidh an scéim seo leat na spriocanna sin a bhaint amach.
  • Sonraí dhá mholtóir.

Líon isteach achan cuid den fhoirm iarratais.

Conas a dhéantar measúnaithe ar iarratais?

Déanfaidh ionadaithe ó Scáileán Thuaisceart Éireann measúnú ar na hiarratais bunaithe ar an chritéir seo a leanas:

  • An t-eolas san alt a dearbhaíonn go gcomhlíonann tú na riachtanais.
  • Méid agus oiriúnacht do thaithí oibre agus teistiméireachtaí ó na moltóirí.
  • Oiriúnacht an scéim don iarratasóir.
  • Más rud é go dtagann líon mór iarratais isteach bainfear úsáid as an chritéir inmhianaithe chun gearrliosta a dhéanamh d’agallamh.

Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund is seeking applications from fluent Irish speakers for the ILBF New Entrant Scheme in Television Skills. Trainees on the schemes will learn the craft of television while on placement with television production companies throughout Northern Ireland.

The ILBF New Entrant Scheme is a 12 month paid placement (minimum wage) aimed at those who are new to the industry – [6 training places in total].  An essential criteria for the scheme is that applicants must be fluent in written and spoken Irish.

Where is it based?

The trainees are placed with television production companies and with the local TV station in Belfast and other locations in Northern Ireland.

Who is eligible to apply?

You are eligible to apply if you can answer YES to these two questions and meet the essential criteria as outlined below.

  • Are you eligible to work in Northern Ireland?
  • Are you available to participate in the scheme from September 2019 – August 2020.

If you cannot answer YES to these two questions, please do not apply.  In-eligible applications will be automatically discarded.

Applications from individuals from under-represented groups are particularly welcome.

Essential criteria:

  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in both Irish and English.
  • Knowledge of Irish language culture.
  • A keen interest in media, particularly relating to Irish language.
  • Competent in the use of Information Systems.
  • An ability to work under pressure and to agreed deadlines.
  • An aptitude for developing relationships and working with others as part of a team.

Desirable criteria:

  • A third level qualification in any of the following would be desirable: Irish; Media Studies; Accounting; Business Studies; Law.
  • Practical media experience.

How do I apply?

To apply to the ILBF New Entrants Scheme in Television Skills applicants must submit the following

via Northern Ireland Screen’s online application form where you will be asked to complete sections relating to:

  • Education & Training.
  • Work Experience.
  • A paragraph of approximately 700 words confirming that you meet the criteria of the scheme, your aims for the future and how this scheme would help you achieve them.
  • Details of two referees.

All sections, in English and in Irish, must be completed.

Once registered, the system will retain your information for any future roles you apply for.

How will applications be assessed?

Representatives of Northern Ireland Screen will assess your application based on the following criteria:

  • The information contained within the applicant’s paragraph confirming that they meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Strength of work experience and references from referees.
  • Suitability of the scheme for the applicant.
  • In the event of a high number of applications being received the desirable criteria will be used to shortlist for interview.

Deadline for applications:1700 hrs Tuesday 21 May 2019.

PLEASE NOTE: under no circumstances will applications be accepted after this deadline.
