Aim High
Wanted: Northern Ireland's next generation of media trainees
Fifteen places are up for grabs for the brightest and best to get a chance to work with local creative industries.
Aim High is a paid, eighteen-month programme to give a new generation the chance to be top content producers, camera operators or researchers on network shows like
Secret Fortune, Digging for Britain, Story of Ireland, Sunday Morning Live and
Panorama as well as local programmes including
House of the Year, Children In Need etc.
Northern Ireland's biggest media/training companies including the BBC, Northern Ireland Screen, Skillset and the Independent sector have collaborated to create this opportunity and are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, motivated self-starters.
As part of the selection process twenty applicants will be accepted to compete at a two week 'digital boot camp' where they will produce and pitch their own short programmes.
Fifteen finalists will then go through to take up the offer of ten placements in production and five in craft roles.
Each trainee will be assigned a senior industry mentor and will be expected to work to tight deadlines and unconventional hours.
Contracts will be issued by Northern Ireland Screen, with placements provided by the BBC and Independent Production companies within Northern Ireland.
Closing date for entries is Monday, June 27, 2011
