Five Day Shelter
An ensemble drama that interweaves the lives of several characters in a contemporary urban setting over five days, the film portrays people living untenable existences of quiet desperation. The characters, and the animals in their lives, fleetingly interact; human nature and animal instinct interchange and collide. Some characters will learn that by letting go of the lies they have forced themselves to live, they can find the poetry in the world around them. Others will glimpse it, but never attain it. These stories, and the fragments of isolated lives they depict, are by turns unflinching, soothing, shocking and compelling.
