Anna Lo, South Belfast MLA & Richard Williams, Chief Executive of Northern Ireland Screen on a recent visit to Harberton Special School, Belfast, to meet its young FILMCLUB members
Cinemagic would like to offer you the opportunity to set up and run an After School Film Club in your school for FREE! Having received funding from Northern Ireland Screen and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure Cinemagic are able to offer you the support necessary to run a weekly or fortnightly After School Film Club. You will be able to choose and order films directly.
Schools must be in receipt of Extended Schools funding from the Department of Education to qualify.
At the Film Club students will view a film followed by a short discussion. Cinemagic can help you with this discussion material.
The Film Club project will run from April 2010 – March 2010
In order to set up a Film Club in your school a teacher must be prepared to organise and run the club. Initial training, ongoing support and advice will be provided throughout the project by Cinemagic.
Your school will also need to have a space where the film club can meet which has a digital projector, DVD player, speakers and a screen or blank wall.
A similar project is running in England, for further information go to, www.filmclub.org
