Self-directing and storytelling training days, 11th and 12th May

Date Posted: May 3, 2016

Northern Ireland Screen is hosting two training days on the 11th and 12th May 2016. The first day will look at directing and self shooting for single camera and the second training day will look at storytelling. Both training days are free to attend.

The One Day Guide to Directing – 11th May

Are you new to self-shooting or directing a single camera and would like a one day guide to gathering great footage that will cut beautifully in the edit? This course will look at coverage, composition, filming interviews and uncontrollable action, giving you the essential skills and hands on experience to start shooting creatively and with confidence.

5 Steps to a Successful Story – 12th May

Whether you work in entertainment, factual or drama, the essentials of story are the same. Stories captivate audiences, drive emotional connections and help them understand intangible ideas. This course will take you through the five steps to create successful stories that stick. You’ll leave able to build characters, conjure up worlds, and structure stories that will leave your audience begging for more.

Please note, this training is aimed only at those people who are currently working in a junior role within production.

To apply for a place on either training day, please send your CV to [email protected] with a cover letter stating why you want to participate. We have a limited number of places available and only those who can show at least two screen credits working in a junior role will be considered.

Closing date for applications is Friday 6th May 2016 at 12 Noon.
