ScreenSkills Children’s TV Skills Fund presents ‘Get the Knowledge’

Date Posted: January 8, 2019

GET THE KNOWLEDGE, BELFAST Saturday 26th January – Sunday 27th January

Supported by the ScreenSkills Children’s TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK children’s TV productions, and delivered by Grand Scheme Media, GET THE KNOWLEDGE is an incredibly useful addition to any freelancer’s CV.

Presented by the UK’s leading expert on Child Protection, Alison Cresswell, this course combines everything TV freelancers need to know about working on set or in studio with children, plus additional insight into developing practical ideas for children’s television. Trainees will be asked to devise an idea for a show based on sound production principles.

Over two informal and information-packed days it covers:

  • Creating great content
  • Best practice
  • Essential guide to licensing
  • Working with chaperones
  • Filming overseas
  • How to interview and cast kids

The course is also designed to reflect the unique regulations governing working with children in Northern Ireland.

Book a place on the course here.

The event is being held across the last weekend in January at Queen’s University in the hope of making it more accessible to the local freelance community.
