Applications open for our University of Ulster Student/Graduate work placement programme

As part of our ongoing support of the local animation, gaming and VFX sectors, Northern Ireland screen intend to run a work placement/training programme aimed at both under graduates and recent graduates studying animation (BDes Hons) from the University of Ulster’s Belfast School of Art.
The programme will offer six month work placements for two under graduates and seven month placements two recent graduates, with a number of our local animation, gaming and VFX companies.
The programme is a paid placement scheme (Minimum/National Living wage) with placements starting between September 2017 – March 2017. Applicants in their application letter, must demonstrate how their career path will benefit from participation in the programme, their willingness to learn and that they have a long term commitment to working in the animation, gaming or VFX sector. Applicants should also evidence that they are self-motivated individuals, attributes participating companies and Northern Ireland Screen consider to be crucial to these positions.
Where is it based?
The programme and placements will be based in Northern Ireland.
Who is eligible to apply?
You are eligible to apply if you can answer YES to these two questions:
- Are you a legal resident of Northern Ireland and currently studying animation (BDes Hons) or recently graduated from The Belfast school of Art?
- Are you available to participate in the programme starting between September 2017 – March 2017?
If you cannot answer YES to these two questions please do not apply. In-eligible applications will be automatically discarded.
What are the priorities?
Applicants who can demonstrate a long term commitment to working in one of the three areas (animation, gaming, VFX) are being sought, nobody else should apply.
