NET PROFIT: Finance & the International Film Business - applications now open

"Filmmaking is the process of turning money into light and then back into money again," John Boorman

Finance & the International Film Business will help producers to better understand the money element in John Boorman’s equation.

  • The ten month long programme will improve their ability to develop and pitch feature film projects, source financing and secure distribution.
  • It will result in improved and sustainable business performance.
  • It will also help optimize the production finance and maximize the returns from distribution of a specific feature film proposition, which they can refine throughout the programme.
The programme will enable participants to develop their knowledge and proficiency in film finance, film business and business affairs including e.g. in-depth study of financing and co-production opportunities, the economics of the international film industry and the ownership and use of intellectual property rights.

The programme is supported by Skillset Film Skills Fund as part of A Bigger Future 2, and the leading nedia law firm Wiggin. The chief executives of the Film Distributors Association and Film Export UK will be among the experienced industry experts participants will have access to and who will help generate tangible benefits from the programme for participants and their projects.

Bursaries and financial support for travel, accommodation and carers’ needs are available.  You may also be eligible to apply to the Northern Ireland Screen Skills Fund.

The programme commences in January and is now open for applications.  Download details here or email info@northern-alliance.co.uk
