SXSW 2013 – Northern Ireland Trade Mission
South by Southwest (SXSW) is the world’s leading annual creative industries showcasing and networking event. Annual delegate numbers at the Austin Texas event continue to rise every year. The 10 day festival/conference/showcase is the biggest and most anticipated convergence event of all things Music, Interactive and Film.
Northern Ireland businesses and artists have played a major part at SXSW in previous years with many significant breakthroughs being achieved as a result. SXSW 2013 (March 8th – 17th) is fast approaching and again it is anticipated that Northern Ireland’s creative businesses and artists will be at the forefront of the events. In 2013, Invest NI, the Dept of Culture Arts and Leisure, Belfast City Council and Digital Derry are yet again collaborating towards the planning and support of the Northern Ireland delegation. This collaborative support package will include the delivery of high value and high visibility networking and showcasing opportunities; Northern Ireland delegation partnership in all aspects of the UK Exhibition Stand in the SXSW Trade Fair throughout Interactive, Music and Film; financial assistance with travel, accommodation and delegation costs; marketing initiatives to highlight the N. Ireland Trade Mission and delegation; as well as experienced advice and guidance on making the most of SXSW opportunities.
Delegation
It is intended that the collaborative partners will offer assistance to a limited number of delegating companies and artists (artists must be chosen to attend & perform by SXSW) from Northern Ireland.

Artists officially invited to showcase at SXSW 2013 should contact Brendan McGoran at Belfast City Council on 02890 270453 or mcgoranb@belfastcity.gov.uk for further information on potential showcase support.
Places are limited therefore applications will be accepted on a competitive basis and submitting an application is not a guarantee of support.

For artists wishing to showcase at SXSW 2013, SXSW Music Showcase applications are currently open and will be so until 7th November 2012.
